Mamata Banerjee slams BJP as 'Biggest Pickpocket'; Accuses it of making fake promises | Watch Video

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday, branding it the "biggest pickpocket" in the country and accusing it of deceptive tactics before elections. Speaking to reporters at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport before her departure for North Bengal, Banerjee claimed that central agencies frequently intervene in the state to provide political support to the BJP.

Banerjee asserted that the BJP has been the cause of significant suffering for the people, citing broken promises such as the failed assurance of depositing Rs 15 lakh in every person's account, the disruptive demonetization, and challenges during the pandemic. She emphasized that the Trinamool Congress stands apart from the BJP in its approach to governance.

Referring to the allocation of funds to Uttar Pradesh despite issues like fake job cards, Banerjee questioned why West Bengal was not receiving dues for its 100-day action plan from the Center. Responding to Union Minister Giriraj Singh's suggestion to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for West Bengal's dues, Banerjee retariated stating that she has already met the Prime Minister thrice and has requested another meeting.
